Just Can't Get Enough

I can’t believe it but the “Boiling Point” (a.k.a. best Degrassi summer everr) ends tonight! Obvs I am insanely excited, but also very sad since I will no longer be enjoying a new Degrassi each night :(. Another small sad note is that I’m guessing, most definitely that Fiona won’t be in tonites eppy. At least her outfit will be though! I was confused when first seeing her wear it in “Purple Pills” since when I was on set I say it in Holly J’s wardrobe closet. Now it all makes sense, hehe.

Speaking of “Purple Pills”. O.M.G. I pretty much have a new fave Degrassi episode now. Seriously, what an episode (well, technically episodes). Fiona did such a perfect job of portraying such a sadly overlooked and inaccurately represented set of issues! The storyline, the acting, the wardrobes – EVERYTHING! Loved it <3

So back on topic of tonites show! Clearly something huge is happening with everyone – but, Clare!? Honestly. She has changed so much over the years it’s crazy. Remember back in the day when her biggest problem was choosing between Connor and KC, and the only consequence was hurt feelings? My have things changed. Dear Clare, why must you fall for the hot bad boys?

I’m guessing her Eli / Fitz choices will have MUCH more drastic consequences….some of which I know since I’ve seen spoilers while I was on set :P, BUT I still have no idea of the details about what’s going down and who is going to get burned!

I’m actually kinda ashamed to admit it, but I’m excited for the Drew, Alli, Bianca storyline too! I’ve never been a Drew supporter but as the Adam storyline unfolded I slowly converted to his fan camp. I wonder if that somehow ties into the Eclare/Fitz/Adam lock down chaos? Also Holly J lap dancing Sav? How un-presidential! (Is that even a word….?)

Oh, if only these kids could learn from the past and the constant reminder of J.T. they have sitting in the courtyard. Bully drama + back and forth battles of spite and revenge + knifes = whatt now??? . A moment of remembrance for J.T., shall we?

As many of you know, I went along with Erin to the set tour of Degrassi for the Ultimate Fan Contest! Afterward I went rite off onto vacation for two-weeks, so that’s why I hadn’t posted anything about the trip! Erin has already written up a meticulous and excellent report on the day, which you can check out here!

The best part of the day for me was for sure all of the Fiona sets and wardrobes. The people there were so amazingly kind and offered for us to touch and even try on anything! Emma’s old room was also really cool to see, even though it’s all made up with Connor props :(.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I’ve been very busy! But, I do have crazy exciting news! Erin and I will be visiting the set of Degrassi on this Monday! Of course I am BEYOND excited. It’s for the CTV ultimate fan contest, and will be a cast and crew meet and greet. I’m guessing the cast that will be there is just who ever is working that day, but I can’t wait to stroll through the halls of Degrassi *eeee :) *.

Another slightly exciting piece of news is that Fionas dress from Breakaway is on sale at Forever21 in the “Twelve by Twelve” section of the store! It is an acquired taste, lol, but I couldn’t resist buying it for only $8.99 and will definitely be wearing it in the winter (it’s made of sweater material). Fiona also wore it last week, but in white!

It looks like Jordan  Todosey really picked the right role to try out for! Her controversial role as transgendered Adam is getting loads of attention from everyone. Here is yet another article talking with Jordan and Stefan Brogren about the whole gender issue and how it’s going to go down on Degrassi! Adams storyline won’t appear until mid-august but don’t forget to cast Degrassi four wonderful times a week, starting next Monday on Much!

“Adam will be portrayed by Jordan Todosey, a 15-year-old actress from Life With Derek. For the role, she underwent a significant makeover, including adopting a more masculine gait. Todosey describes Adam as a character who “was born physically as a girl but between the ears, he feels like he’s a guy.”

As I’m sure you all know, tomorrow is the premiere of Degrassi Takes Manhattan on Much Music or AT Much Music! I’ll be meeting up with Ashley and Erin at Much head quarters for the event. I’m beyond excited and can’t wait to see which of the cast will be there :) Sadly, Paula Brancati won’t be attending as it is the debut of her new play “Love, Loss, and What I Wore”, which is super exciting for her even though she will me missed by us fans!

After looking at a new promo for DTM, I could not believe how much the characters have changed since season one, character wise and physically! Here is a picture from the movie:

Emma: The original character that made TNG possible, and probably my all time favorite as well! Although her and Manny still remain bff’s, they have been through endless drama together, as well as Emma on her own. Pregnancy scares, body issues, STD’s,  and even getting her period in class! But I love how Emma has stayed Emma through it all and stuck to her true, good doing activist self.

Manny: Maybe the biggest transformation of all?! Still wild and spunky Manny has certainly gotten her self into a fair share of trouble (and has dated almost every guy in the school) but came out alright in the end and achieved her goal of becoming an actress, and always seems to be there when her friends really need her!

Spinner: Of all the physical changes, Spinner definitely takes the cake! Even though he has always looked super hott, he toned up, had every hair style in existence, and changed to a neater clean cut image that we can’t get enough of! His character has also under gone huge growth. Between expulsion and his battle with the big C, he still managed to hold down a job, graduate, clean up his act, get a solid girlfriend and win back all of his friends. So glad he had a happy ending :)

Jay: Jay, Jay, Jay….Where to start! Jay has certainly been a major source of drama and entertainment for everyone at Degrassi – especially the characters above! Sure he will always have his drama causing ways with him, but he has come out looking much more positive, settled down, and hopeful than his first few years!

I’m thinking Adam and transgender issues? Or maybe another eating issue storyline? They all just sound so exciting going strictly by the names haha. Even Canadian Billy Talent is up there!

The much awaited (well, by me at least) Degrassi line at Hot Topic stores! The down side, so far the designs are nothing thrilling. To be honest the only ones I like are the 2 ones for the older Degrassi. One was there before, but the other is new to the site. However, the DTNG one, pretty lame and the Panthers one is too much like the one I already have from the CTV Degrassi store. I was really hoping for something more original and fresh, but hopefully they’ll put out more designs. On a positive note the prices are great!
